Johnny and I decided ditch everything and go visit my sister (Ellie) and her husband (Jon) about an hour south of here. They live in a really small town--I'm talkin' the local soda shop (the sip it) is the main hang out--small. We absolutely love to visit, it's our own little escape and I genuinely feel that every time I go I leave a little bit more centered and focused on what matters.
Ellie made the most lovely meal (she's brilliant in the kitchen) and we sat and enjoyed one another's company. We followed dinner with a walk around town, the views were absolutely perfect. Other than this being my first long walk post-partum, it was great. Afterwards we came back and had strawberry cream pie and I have to say, it was a top 3 dessert.
There are a lot of things that I am going to miss when we leave here in less than a week, but at the very top of that list are my sisters. The majority of my time without Johnny and Henry is spent with my sisters, and it never gets old. We've developed a friendship that I honestly do not have words for, "best friends" doesn't even begin to describe the bond we share.

Now if you want to see a really small town, I can arrange that. Ephraim's been growing too big for my liking ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming down to visit Izzy, Johnny, and Henry. We will miss seeing you all around so much.
Jon
I love you so much it hurts! And you're right! "Best friends" just doesn't cut it. Thank you for visiting, can't wait to see you tomorrow (and the next day, and the next). I'm going to miss you so much when you move, but I'm so grateful for these memories we've made.
ReplyDeleteLove love LOVE you -Elle
