Welcome to the world, my sweet Henry James.

April 2nd, 2013 Johnny and I welcomed our baby boy into this world.
He finally arrived at 11:47 pm which is fortunate considering I'm oddly biased to even birth-dates.
I was in active labor for a total of four hours, and only had to push for 40 minutes [At last, those 7 work outs a week paid off!]

The nurses had to think that I was either crazy or on something because I kept a smile on the entire time, and was cracking jokes--it wasn't that labor was easy, because it wasn't, but my pregnancy was SO terrible and I was so ready to be done and meet this tiny piece of Johnny and I. So every time it hurt, or I felt scared or nervous, I just reminded myself that the little being that had been kicking me in the night and that I had spent hours talking to, singing to, and dreaming for, was about to be in my arms.

That first moment where I laid my eyes on him, was surreal, to say the very least. I couldn't help but notice his luscious lips and perfect everything. I kept looking back and forth between my beautiful son and his father's teary face.
It was perfect.

My sisters & mom joined us for the entire process and I could not be happier about that decision. They gathered around, cheering me on--we were all incredibly touched by the experience.

That night, I didn't sleep. I cuddled the newest addition to our family and wrote out my thoughts. I cried with Johnny about all of the beauty ahead of us. We talked late into the night about our sons future. As I unwrapped Henry James and stared at his little body, amazed at its perfection, my faith in God was solidified.

  1. Welcome to the world, Henry James. You are so lucky to have such a wonderful Mom and Dad. As for your Grandparents, well that is too wonderful for words. You also have Great Grandparents who aren't too shabby either. You are a welcome addition. I hope your Mom keeps writing because this will be a treasure for later. God Bless and keep you, Home Ruler. Rule gently.
    Love ,
    Great, Great Aunt Muff
